What’s the difference between HAWA and VIFA?

The simplest differences are timing, venue, scale and show mix.

1) Venue and logistics

For many international visitors, SECC is the familiar venue and it’s closer to central Ho Chi Minh City, which tends to make meetings and travel days simpler. In 2026, HAWA is at SECC.

VIFA Expo takes place at WTC EXPO, which can mean more travel time if you’re staying centrally.

2) Size

On the numbers published for 2026 at the time of publishing this post, HAWA appears slightly larger:

• HAWA: 700 exhibitors and 3,000 booths
• VIFA: around 680 exhibitors and 2,800 booths (as stated on VIFA’s website)

3) What’s on show

Both events cover furniture, but the emphasis can differ. VIFA also promotes a strong focus on home décor, handicrafts and woodworking machinery alongside furniture. HAWA, by contrast, is positioned more as a broad furniture-led show, spanning living, dining, bedroom and office ranges, plus outdoor and garden furniture, upholstery and leather, interior decoration, contract and project furniture, and related categories such as handicrafts, bamboo and rattan, and carpet and flooring.

If you can only attend one show, we’d start with HAWA at SECC. That’s where we’re exhibiting in 2026, it’s the venue many buyers already plan around and, based on the published scale, it looks like the bigger stop this year.
