We’re working on a furniture project in America, which is an enlightening and fascinating design challenge. In the US, they like their furniture B-I-G (or do we Europeans like our furniture small?!). Either way, American beds, chests of drawers, bedside tables and other pieces of furniture are significantly larger than we’d expect in the UK. Go too small and products won’t sell. We’ve created these diagrams to give you an idea of the size differential.
Swapping back and forth between a European to an American design mindset certainly keeps you on your toes!
