September’s Shanghai Show was a treasure trove of design inspiration – our first visit since the Covid pandemic, and it felt fantastic to be back.
While we’ve exhibited at the Shanghai Show many times over the years, this time we decided to attend as visitors. Wandering the halls gave us the chance to explore a wide variety of designs and trends, making it a fantastic opportunity for sourcing, networking and immersing ourselves in design inspiration.
Here are the top four trends we identified at the show – some of them are familiar, but they remain highly relevant and on-trend right now:
🟤 Round edges & organic shapes: From non-geometric nesting tables to rounded corners and soft edges, this trend was everywhere! It’s all about creating softer, more inviting silhouettes.
🪩 High-gloss lacquer finishes: Sleek, shiny and making a huge comeback after a decade of absence. High-gloss finishes are making waves in the design world again.
🏛️ Travertine, marble & stone: These materials are still hugely popular, particularly for table surfaces and cabinet tops, adding a sense of timeless luxury to furniture.
🏺 Textured & tinted glass: This one’s a bit more niche, but we were impressed by the creative applications we saw. It’s an original and exciting material, sure to add interest to any design.
Visiting the Shanghai Show was an inspiring experience, and the whole Teemo team is feeling energised and ready to experiment.
